Preparing the CS scents. A variety of floral and non-floral scents may be used as conditioned stimuli. The scent is applied with a wooden applicator onto a small piece of filter paper. The filter paper is attached to the plunger of the syringe with a thumbtack.

	Preparing the US. All that is needed is a sweet sucrose solution. One way to apply the US is with a syringe.
	A less expensive way to apply the US is with a piece of filter paper.
