Behavioral Health Research Laboratory
John M. Chaney, Ph.D.
Professor of Psychology
The Behavioral Health Research Laboratory is part of the Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University. These web pages contain information about Dr. John Chaney and the graduate students who work with him. Our work focuses in two broad areas of research: health/pediatric psychology and multicultural issues related to American Indians. Often times, these two lines of research overlap. Current research projects examine psychological adjustment to pediatric rheumatic diseases and social-cognitive processes that underlay prejudice against American Indians. Recent projects include research related to adult rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, cognitive appraisal & achievement motivation in American Indian students, and American Indian preventive health behaviors. Click on the links to the left to find out more about lab members' clinical interests and specific details regarding current research.
