Here's an official copy of Ferguson's paper. Here's another and another paper on effect sizes you should have in your stats manuals.
Stefanie will demo G*Power with t-tests in tonight's lab. Work problems 8.1, 8.4, 8.6, 8.10, 8.12 in Howell (6th Ed).
Work on updating your stats manuals with the checklist I handed out in
class.
Stefanie will review dependent and independent samples t-tests in PASW tonight. She'll also show you how to run analyses in OOM.
Here's the data set for OOM. Here's the article on which the data are based (Study 1). We'll discuss the article next week and finish t-tests.
Tonight Stefanie will show you how to conduct single sample and dependent t-tests in PASW.
Here's the hand-out with the formulas for your stats notebooks.
The stats notebooks are due next Tuesday during lab. They should include all of the materials in the outline.
No HW for this week. Spend the time whipping the notebooks into shape.
APA examples for the z-test and t-tests are posted below.
Read Ch7 for next week.
You'll need this OOM file for
tonight's lab.
Stefanie will show you how to conduct a chi-square test of association in PASW this week.
For HW,
work problems 6.10, 6.14, and 6.16 from Howell (6th Edition). Work each of
the problems by hand, being sure to show all of your work, and then checking
your results in PASW. Compute Cramer’s V as the effect size estimate for
tables larger than 2x2. For 2x2 tables use the odds ratio and its confidence
interval. You can ignore Howell's specific questions, just work each example
following the steps we learned in class. Report the results for problem 6.16
using APA style.
