Diversity Day 2020

Oklahoma State University Diversity Day

Welcome to Oklahoma State University’s Psychology Graduate Program! We are glad that you chose to participate in our First Annual Diversity Weekend program. We, members of the Department of Psychology, value diversity and inclusion and we seek to increase the enrollment of all underrepresented minority students in graduate studies. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the educational opportunities available to students and increasing minority graduate enrollment in our department. We know that diverse students can strengthen our program and provide unique contributions to the work that we do.

Through this program, it is our goal to encourage talented underrepresented minority students to pursue a graduate education in psychology, and to provide information and knowledge needed to successfully navigate the graduate school application. The program also aims to provide the opportunity to network with graduate students and faculty, and learn more about what our department has to offer you. We hope that you find the program to be enjoyable and productive. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions that we could be helpful in answering. Once again, welcome!

Why Diversity?

  • The Oklahoma State Psychology Department is actively and intentionally committing to building an inclusive field. While we intend to be more intentional about increasing diversity and support for diverse individuals within our own department, we also feel strongly that we should help historically minoritized individuals pursue training in psychology no matter what institutions they're interested in, because the field needs everything you have to offer! As such, our goal in offering this workshop is to help you put your best foot forward as you apply widely for training opportunities in psychology.
